Ruby and the Rockits: Review

Millions watched the premiere of Ruby and the Rockits on July 21st. It's an ABC Family comedy starring Alexa Vega, David Cassidy, Patrick Cassidy, and Austin Butler. It has an all-star cast! Alexa Vega (Spy Kids, Sleepover, Odd Girl Out), David Cassidy (pop artist), Patrick Cassidy (pop artist), and Austin Butler (Zoey 101, Aliens In the Attic). I watched it on the Tuesday that it came out, and now it's time for a review!

Ruby and the Rockits is based on a girl named Ruby (Alexa Vega), who been living with her grandparents, and just took a one-way ticket to meet her father (David Cassidy). He's a rockstar, who doesn't have a stable home for her to stay with him. So he sends Ruby to stay with his brother (Patrick Cassidy), who was a rockstar, but now has chosen a quiet life with his 2 sons (Austin Butler and Kurt Doss) and his wife (Katie Amanda Keane). Ruby meets her family, and is in for an adventure!

I give this show a 4/5.

Summer to Fall Fashion Transformation: HOT New Shoes!

Summer is known for it's "famous" footwear! We've all seen the gladiator sandals, thong flip flops, and wedge heels. Unfortunately, August is almost here, and we're alternating to Autumn. Things like ballerina flats and boots will be making a return. Now, let's talk about the cute shoes you can wear throughout the rest of summer, and the shoes you MUST pick up during back to school shopping!

Strappy sandals are one of the main focuses on shoes in summer. The Samara Jeweled Sandal is a sandal sold at Payless. Montego Bay Club is a great brand for summer shoes. When buying sandals like these:

Do: Buy colors that pop, but are still neutral (mostly metallic) like gold, silver, and shiny brown. This way you can easily slip them on and wear with any outfit.

Don't: Splurge on wooden sandals! They are really cute, but they're not the kind of shoes you might want to wear when walking around all day while enjoying your summer. One or two pairs are nice, to wear on nights out with family and BFF's. Even low heels are better on your feet, since they usually have soft pads for your feet!

Dexter Abigail Bow Flat

Flats are really cute and comfortable for Fall. They are easy to put on, and you can wear it with mostly everything (dresses, jeans, skirts, shorts, rompers, etc.)! I think the Dexter Abigail Bow Flat is really pretty. When wearing shoes like these:

Do: Try to color coordinate the entire look. It's cool to have fun and have a funky style. Popping colors are pretty and smart, consider trying flats with basic color schemes.

Don't: Have too many patterns! i.e: If you're wearing a polka- dot shirt, don't go and buy a striped flat!

Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana (TV-PG)

On July 17th, a cross-over show will be released on Disney Channel. It will join the three most watched Disney shows; Wizards of Waverly Place, Suite Life on Deck, and Hannah Montana. It will combine the three story lines, and mix it up for a episode packed with comedy. You must see this show! It airs at 8/7c!

Here We Go Again by Demi Lovato

This July, Demi Lovato will release her second album in one year. The music shows a new side of Lovato, but she still continues her spunky style of music. Fans can't wait to get this album, it's recommended for ALL TweenTopia readers!

Celebrity Spotlight: Kristinia Debarge

Many young and fresh celebrities are rising to the occasion, and have become loved in the teen and tween community. They vary from stars like Selena Gomez, to Keke Palmer. But now, a fresh face is stepping out...
